Brilliant Now Offers Antimicrobial Coatings and Films for Peace of Mind

October 6, 2020

Brilliant has worked closely with our ink and film manufacturers to come up with a solution to nearly eliminate bacterial transfer by offering Antimicrobial Aqueous Coatings & Lamination Films for all your business and consumer collateral.

By incorporating Silver Ion technology into our aqueous coatings & lamination films, this safe and natural antimicrobial agent reduces bacterial growth by 99.9% on the surface of your booklet, brochure, magazine, menu, business card or packaged product. Your collateral is important and should be treated and protected properly. Brilliant offers these protective coatings and films for those pieces that are shared or handled multiple times.

How it Works:

Our antimicrobial aqueous coating is a water-based, clear and fast-drying protective coating used during the printing process to achieve various finishes. After ink meets paper, the coating is applied on press to seal the printed surface. The treated sheet now includes a silver ion that disrupts the growth of bacteria and stops it from reproducing. This technique is simple and effective, and can be mixed with any gloss, satin, matte, or soft touch aqueous coating, giving you the same functionality as traditional aqueous coating.

Our antimicrobial film laminations work the same way. The normal print process occurs on the cover of your choice. The surface is sealed with our silver ion antimicrobial film which disrupts the growth of bacteria and stops it from reproducing, giving the same functionality as traditional gloss, satin or matte films.
