Celebrate Light with The Optical Society

The Optical Society (OSA) is a professional association of individuals and companies with an interest in optics and photonics. OSA has been around for just over 100 years, and publishes journals, and  organizes conferences and exhibitions. In 2019 it had about 22,000 members in more than 100 different countries, including some 300 companies.

Brilliant is honored to have produced a few projects for OSA through C&G Partners of Manhattan.  Maya Kopytman, a Partner at C&G, directed the creative and production on this featured piece.  The intention of the finished construction was to allow for the play of light as it sits on a desk near a lamp or window.  Careful proofing of just the correct shade of blue, and position & alignment of the laser cutting yielded a functional and delightful finished piece. 

For projects like this requiring careful execution, we employ art direction phone conferences,  precision stock dummies, draw downs, laser-cut comps and video approvals of critical stages in production.  Together, this all culminates in a predictable and intentional final product.
